A little slice of heaven in the Dordogne. This beautiful French farmhouse located outside of St Cyprien was a highlight of our trip. Our hosts were gracious from the moment we arrived . Breakfast each morning on the terrace was spectacular; restful afternoons in the garden were marvelous and Chef Ian's gourmet dinners were as good or better than any restaurant around. The rooms are lovely and the inn is well appointed. Terrific location. Close to Prehistoric cave Font-Au-Gaume and all of the lovely towns on the Dordogne. Hope to return someday soon!

This was our first stay in a B&B;, and we were a bit nervous about what it would be like. We were so delighted to discover the joys of a fantastic B&B;. Sara and Ian went out of their way to make us feel welcome and pampered: just the right amount of attention but not too much! Ian even took his son and our son out to shoot their potato cannon, which was a highlight for both father and son! We had the Family Room and it was charming and easily large enough to accommodate us and our teenage son, and his laptop! We enjoyed breakfast every morning, and particularly loved the fresh pain au chocolat (teenager) as well as the walnut bread (parents). Even more remarkable were Ian’s fantastic dinners. We were around for two of those, and they were simply amazing: don’t miss them! And Ian, that dog really did just follow us home! We are still dreaming about the food, and when we will be back. A++, highly recommended.

A great start to a month long trip. Excellent food and wine in a quiet French country setting. Sara and Ian made us feel very welcome and suggested some great day trips and went out of their way to make it a great stay. As we do not speak French, they assisted by booking restaurants for us and collected tickets at the nearby Font de Gaume caves on our behalf.

Sara and Ian were wonderful hosts. The country and garden ambience was tranquil and inviting. Our room was a bit small but well fitted out with our own bathroom. The towels were changed daily. Our view on the ground floor to the garden was very relaxing. We enjoyed dinner on the nights that Ian was cooking and were impressed with the delicious menus. Breakfasts were enjoyed under the pergola with plenty of coffee, juice and a variety of breakfast food options. The location is well situated to villages and towns close by. Sara also organised for us an English speaking tour of the Faunt de Gaume and a tour of a truffle farm. This was excellent. Sara also recommended canoe tours, local restaurants and "must see" highlights. Le Chevrefeuille also offered clothes washing, ironing and fridge facilities for the use of guests and the internet to check emails. The highlight was the welcome by Sara and Ian and their young family and their 'can do' approach.

This place is so charming. Sarah, Ian and their two children are terrific. Ian cooks dinner 4 nights a week and we stayed for each one. It was the best food we had while in southern France (which is really saying something!). The breakfasts were terrific. There was so much to choose from; cheeses, meats, different breads, hard boiled eggs, cereals and coffee, tea and hot chocolate. You eat outside in the courtyard under an awning. We look forward to returning to Le Chevrefeuille with our grown children. It is a VERY special place run by very special people.

Sara, Ian and the children were a delight. We had an enjoyable one night stay, pity it could not be longer. We opted for dinner at Le Chevrefeuille which was an excellent meal. Breakfast was served under the pergola, fresh fruit, bread and pastries. Friendly, clean and relaxed. We are hoping to go back one day and will definitely opt to stay at Le Chevrefeuille again. We (my boyfriend, my mother, my aunt and my 12 year old cousin) spent October visiting various B&Bs;in France and this was by far the best! It is a lovely area, not as heavily populated with tourists as many others, and Le Chevrefeuille is a great place to stay to see it all. Rooms are spacy and comfortable, showers are good and it is the little extras, like the garden setting to let you sit and read a book and watch the sunset, which really help make it great. The price is more than reasonable. Sara and Ian really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and to give you any information or details or opening times, etc., but they also recognise the joy of just finding things out for yourself and are not pushing itineries on you, which is a real relief. If you are there for the evening meal, we highly recommend that you try it!

We decided to spend a ferw days in southwest Dordogne ahead of a week we had booked in a Gitte in the northwest part, and we found Le Chevrefeuille online. It turned out to be a gem of a find - the entire ambience of the hotel, it's location and not least the family that run it was idillic and magical. I do not use these words lightly either! From the moment we arrived, late on the first night, we were made to feel very welcome and as our party included both a 6 year old, a 2 year old and also my mother-in-law it took a great deal off my mind to know that all of them were well looked after and relaxed. The location is very good as it is only a short drive into Sarlat whilst being within striking distance of many local sights and activities. The rooms are excellent, there is plenty for children to do around the farmhoiuse, and we also dined there one evening - fantastic food!
